Added right-click context menus to the Multiple Simple Beam module for quick expand/collapse of results tables, along with the ability to export or copy/paste data to Excel or CSV. 

As part of this update, the underlying context menu logic was refactored and standardized for improved consistency and maintainability across several other modules that already included similar functionality. (2025-04-04)

Based on discussions with industry experts about the interpretation of the 'hw' and 'Lw' values when calculating 'αc', this module no longer supports the ability to vary the wall length on a story-by-story basis. Wall lengths and offsets are now standardized across all stories. Additionally, the shear wall aspect ratio Hw/Lw is now calculated using the global dimensions of the entire wall stack.

When opening existing Concrete Shear Wall calculations created before this update, a warning message will inform users of these changes. If needed, legacy calculation data remains accessible within older builds. (2025-03-14)

The Concrete Shear Wall module has been enhanced to better support shear strength and reinforcement detailing checks per ACI 318-19 Chapter 11. Previously, the module only reported the total horizontal and vertical reinforcement required. Now, for ACI 318-19 and later, the following improvements have been made:

  • Added input fields to allow the user to define the wall reinforcement layout, including vertical and horizontal reinforcement bar size, spacing, and number of reinforcement mats.
  • Updated shear strength calculations to better follow ACI 318-19 Section 11.5.4.
  • Implemented minimum reinforcement ratio checks per ACI 318-19 Section 11.6.
  • Added maximum spacing limits per ACI 318-19 Section 11.7.
  • Added right-click context menus for copying/exporting results to Excel or CSV.

Clarified that the minimum footing flexural steel ratio is specified to be 0.0018 by ACI, and that it is not to be split between top and bottom mats of steel per the ACI commentary. (2024-11-15)

Updated the shear wall footing one-way shear calculations to comply with ACI 318-19, Section 22.5.5.1. Updated the one-way shear phi factor for shear wall footings designed per ACI 318-14. Added an additional 1/2" allowance in the calculation for d in shear calculations. Improved UI and Calculation Report presentation for one-way shear design info for better clarity. (2024-02-21)

ACI 318-19 changed the method of calculating shear wall in-plane shear capacity, Vc. Vc is now calculated using an area Acv bounded by web thickness and total length (Lw) of wall section in the direction of shear force (rather than effective depth, d). This leads to marginally higher in-plane shear capacities in IBC 2021 calculations versus IBC 2018 and IBC 2015. (2022-11-30)
